We have a couple of these beautiful postcards, depicting the Markle Mill as it once stood on Otter Creek. I cannot pass by a bin of old postcards when we’re walking about at antique stores and will most certainly be there a while flipping through in hopes of find this card or the one of the Markle House.
Of note… the caption on the back states that the mill was a stop on the underground railroad. This is a topic that needs a little more discussion. See our FAQ post Was The Markle House Part of the Underground Railroad?

If anyone knows anything more about this postcard, please post a comment on this page or visit our contact page! We would especially love to ascertain a date of publication!
